It's day three of the world's biggest trade event for supply chains, the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing. With a total of 620 enterprises and organizations taking part, the expo has showcased six key industrial chains, in which the green agriculture chain has attracted crowds by its huge potential for promoting the sustainable development of the entire industry chain. CGTN's Wang Mengjie has more.

As an old friend of the supply chain expo, Starbucks shows something new this year.

JIA ZIYI, Barista, Starbucks China "These are coffee beans before roasting. They used to be red berries growing on trees."

WANG MENGJIE Beijing "It smells refreshing. Unprocessed smell."

Technological innovation also plays a crucial role in the development of green agriculture.

FU SU, President, Syngenta Group China "Agriculture must do more than feed our world, it must also improve it. To achieve that, it is critical to accelerate innovation, and to make farming more productive and sustainable. We have 150 research centers and 6,500 scientists worldwide."

To promote the development of agricultural supply chains, strengthening interconnectivity cooperation has become an important issue this year.

ADELAIDE GU, Chief Impact Officer, McDonald's China "This supply chain expo will improve the connections among all the enterprises on the supply chain. Like McDonald's, our supply chain is very long from farm to factory and restaurants. Along all this supply chain, we have collaboration with our suppliers."

ALAA EZZ, Secretary-General, Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Professions "We see a huge success. We see over 100 countries participating provide not only support but cooperation, extending their arms to cooperate with China, to open doors, to open new venues for supply chain."

Companies participating in the expo will jointly launch initiatives to promote the sustainable development of the global agriculture and food industry.
