A three-runway system at Hong Kong International Airport officially went into service on Thursday after a launch ceremony held in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The runways – north, center and south – can be utilized simultaneously, boosting the city's status as an aviation hub. The three-runway system is expected to enable the airport to handle 120 million passenger trips and 10 million tonnes of cargo annually.
