As temperatures drop, tens of thousands of migratory birds have arrived at the Duchang section of Poyang Lake in east China's Jiangxi Province. So far, over 50 species, numbering in the hundreds of thousands of birds, have made this region their winter refuge. Birds of various kinds can be seen resting on grasslands or gliding across the water, alternately foraging and frolicking.
Located along the shores of Poyang Lake, Duchang County boasts the largest expanse of lake wetlands in Jiangxi and is renowned as a "kingdom of migratory birds." With its unique wetland ecosystem, it serves as a critical wintering ground and stopover point for waterbirds migrating from the north.
