China's State Council Information Office on Friday released a white paper titled "China's Rural Roads in the New Era."
The white paper states that China has improved its transport infrastructure in rural areas, identified and removed safety hazards, and strengthened transport safety management, achieving greater and consistent safety and enabling a better emergency response for rural transport.
According to the China's Highway Performance Assessment Standard, the technical conditions of highways are rated at five levels: premier, good, medium, inferior and substandard.
The technical conditions of bridges are rated at five levels: Grade I, Grade II, Grade III, Grade IV and Grade V. Grade IV and Grade V bridges are dangerous bridges, according to the China's National Standards for Technical Condition Evaluation of Highway Bridges.
