A forum titled "Bridging Economies, Shaping Futures – South Africa and China: a Vision for Shared Success" was held as part of the ongoing second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) at the Shunyi Hall of the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on November 28. The event was hosted by Brand South Africa and supported by the Commercial Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. In an interview with CGTN, Gary Smith, economic counselor at the South African Embassy in China, stated that the CISCE provides an important platform for his country. He noted that China and South Africa are jointly committed to building a more just and balanced international economic order and maintaining the stability of the global supply chain. As South Africa assumes the G20 presidency in 2025, it will work hand in hand with China to advance global economic governance and international cooperation, Smith added.
