Medical research has long focused on HIV, which can lead to the development of AIDS. In some cases, the virus is transmitted during childbirth, leading to children being born HIV-positive. In China, one school is fostering orphans with HIV, providing medical care and education with the hope of giving them a chance at a normal life.
