The BRICS group of countries, as an important platform for cooperation among developing nations and emerging markets, advocates openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, as well as non-confrontation and non-targeting of any third party, all in pursuit of shared development and common prosperity, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said in Beijing on Tuesday.

Lin made the remarks at a daily press briefing when asked regarding U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's earlier remarks, where he threatened 100 percent tariffs on BRICS nations if they "move away" from the use of the U.S. dollar.

China is willing to continue working with BRICS partners to deepen practical cooperation across various fields and contribute further to sustained and stable global economic growth, Lin added.
