- South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol's chief of staff and senior secretaries offered to resign en masse in the wake of Yoon's lifting of martial law early Wednesday.

- Yoon had issued an emergency martial law order late Tuesday to "eradicate anti-state forces and uphold free constitutional order." Less than two hours later, lawmakers defied the president by unanimously voting to block his move.

- South Korean lawmakers on Wednesday called for Yoon's impeachment after his surprise declaration of martial law and reversal of the move hours later.
