Speaker of the Nauru Parliament Marcus Stephen affirmed that resuming diplomatic ties with China is the right decision for Nauru. He highlighted that the decision was unanimously approved in parliament and holds legal binding force under the framework of the United Nations. Stephen made these remarks when commenting on Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te's recent visits to so-called diplomatic allies in the Pacific and a stopover in the United States. Currently leading a delegation to China, Stephen aims to deepen exchanges and foster mutual learning between the two nations.
