Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on her election as Namibian president.
Noting China and Namibia enjoy a long-standing traditional friendship, Xi pointed out that in recent years, the two countries have strengthened political mutual trust, achieved fruitful results in pragmatic cooperation and supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Namibia relations and is willing to work with Nandi-Ndaitwah to take the implementation of the outcomes of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing as an opportunity to carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in order to better benefit the two peoples.
