The 2024 Hainan Island International Film Festival opened on Friday, with jury president Luc Besson and the festival's ambassador, Sophie Marceau, helping to bridge Eastern and Western cinematic traditions in the city of Sanya, south China. French actress Nathalie Boyer told CGTN that the Chinese film industry has a future in Europe, and added that she has a keen interest for Chinese movies.
