Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral officially reopens after restoration

01:45

Five years after a devastating fire, the restored Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral officially reopened on Saturday with a grand ceremony attended by world leaders, believers and nonbelievers alike. Paris Archbishop Laurent Ulrich knocked three times on the cathedral's wooden doors, officially marking the reopening. The ceremony began with a tribute film honoring all those who played a role in the rescue and restoration of Notre-Dame. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to saving and rebuilding the cathedral at the event. The celebration was attended by 1,500 dignitaries, including U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Elon Musk.
