The Beijing News annual reading gala "I See Green Mountains" is scheduled to open on January 11, 2025.

The Beijing News' editorial team has shortlisted 74 books published from January to December 2024 in four categories: literature and arts, humanities and history, social sciences and economics, and children's knowledge and lifestyle.

Based on the selection, 12 experts and scholars are invited to the discussions, and the final recommended reading list for 2024 will be determined through voting and unveiled at the gala.

This annual book selection has been ongoing for over 20 years, spotlighting numerous inspirational works. These books reflect the authors' relationships with the world and their perceptions and insights about life.
