East China's Shaoxing is a city rich in history and culture. It lies at the heart of the Eastern Zhejiang Canal, one of the oldest man-made waterways with a history of over 2,500 years and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Historically, the canal ushered in trade and brought prosperity to the people along its banks.
