At 4 p.m. on November 25, the first phase of the Eastern Route of China's South-to-North Water Diversion Project launched its annual water diversion for the 12th consecutive year, spanning 2024-2025. Several pumping stations in east China's Jiangsu Province began operating sequentially from south to north. According to the Ministry of Water Resources' plan, this year's water transfer aims to deliver 1.125 billion cubic meters of water to east China's Shandong Province and is expected to conclude in May 2025.
