In Nigeria, a growing preference for Western education and culture is contributing to the erosion of indigenous values.  Some languages, like Igbo, spoken by about 20 million people, are at risk of extinction, according to the United Nations. However, efforts are underway to safeguard this cultural heritage for future generations.
