Italian President Sergio Mattarella called for more people to act like the famous Venetian merchant and explorer Marco Polo to promote dialogue, mutual respect and learning from each other to seek common development.
Mattarella visited an exhibition in Beijing on November 8 that commemorates Marco Polo's journey on the Silk Road in the 13th century.
During an exclusive interview with China Media Group, Mattarella said the exhibition was great, and he even tried VR goggles to have an immersive experience of tracing Marco Polo's legendary journey along the Silk Road.
