South Korea's National Assembly on Saturday passed a motion to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol on allegations of insurrection amid the ongoing fallout from a recent failed attempt to impose martial law in the country.
CGTN talked to South Koreans in the capital city of Seoul to ask their thoughts about the impeachment case. Office worker Kim Jin-seong believed the final outcome is a step forward restoring society through the power of democracy. "The economy is already tough, the political situation has made diplomatic issues difficult and the lives of ordinary people harder."
