At the short-course Swimming World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, American sensation Gretchen Walsh broke another world record while claiming her fifth gold at the short course meet.
Walsh dominated the women's 100-meter butterfly final, setting a new world record of 52.71 seconds, ahead of silver medalist Tessa Giele of the Netherlands and bronze medalist Alexandria Perkins of Australia. It was the third time Walsh made history this week after breaking world records in the heats and the semifinals of the women's 100m butterfly.
