For years, the annual basketball tournament in Kaitang Village, southwest China's Guizhou Province, was a small-scale affair for the local community. In recent years, social media has turned it into a national phenomenon, dubbed the "VBA" – Village NBA. Today, more than just a sporting event, the tournament has become a symbol of the rural revitalization that is bringing greater prosperity to the local people.
