China's new-generation medium-sized rocket, the Long March-8 (CZ-8), was successfully transferred to the launch area at the country's first commercial space site in Wenchang City, south China, on Sunday afternoon, and is ready for lift-off in the coming days.
The rocket was developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
It uses green, environmentally friendly liquid propellant and completed a successful full rehearsal in early November this year.
