To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Sanxingdui's excavation, on December 14, the International Symposium on "Sanxingdui in Bronze Age Eurasia: Retrospect and Prospects after 90 Years" was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. At the opening ceremony of the seminar, a new book titled "90 Years of Sanxingdui Archaeology" was launched. The book "90 Years of Sanxingdui Archaeology" compiles a number of research achievements, relating to Sanxingdui and ancient Shu civilization, of several generations of scholars in the past century. Twenty-two scholars from seven countries including China, the United States and France will share and discuss a series of topics such as Sanxingdui technology, art, resources and belief in depth. They will systematically sort out previous research achievements on Sanxingdui and explore the new direction of Sanxingdui research from an international perspective.

ROWAN FLAD Professor of Anthropology at Harvard University "I think that international collaboration in all realms is a way by which we advance society throughout the world and having sites like Sanxingdui – they are so important not just for understanding local history, but for understanding of all of Eurasian prehistory. The best way to do that is to have active ongoing collaborative research on places like Sanxingdui. When you bring in experts, you have new perspectives, new ways of doing things and having conversations like this one. The conversation that we're having here at this conference allows for the stimulation of new ideas. It also enables promoting active ongoing research across different parts of the world."
