European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday she had instructed the bloc's top diplomat for Syria to go to Damascus and make contact with the country's new government.
Speaking to reporters on arrival at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Kallas said the diplomat would go to the Syrian capital on Monday.
