A spokesperson for the China Coast Guard (CCG) briefed the media on Tuesday about the CCG's recent responses to a Philippine civilian vessel that delivered supplies to its illegally grounded military ship in the waters of China's Ren'ai Jiao in the South China Sea.

The spokesperson, Liu Dejun, said with China's permission, the Philippines sent a civilian vessel to deliver supplies to its illegally grounded military ship on Ren'ai Jiao on Thursday. The CCG inquired about and verified the Philippine vessel's activities and monitored them throughout the process.

Liu expressed hope that the Philippine side would honor its commitments, work together with China, and jointly manage the maritime situation.

The CCG will continue to carry out law enforcement activities to safeguard rights in China's Nansha Qundao and the surrounding waters, including Ren'ai Jiao, said Liu.
