The FIVB Women's Club World Championship has entered its second day of competition in Hangzhou. Italy's Imoco Volley Conegliano secured their second consecutive victory in Pool B, defeating Vietnam's LP Bank Ninh Binh 25-16, 25-8, 25-15. The Italian team made several changes to their lineup, opting to rest Chinese star outside hitter Zhu Ting in their second match of the group stage.
Zhu, 30, made her first appearance for Conegliano at the tournament on Tuesday, contributing 11 points to the team's opening victory against Brazil's Dentil Praia Clube.
This marked Zhu's return to the Club World Championships after a five-year absence, making it her sixth appearance in the tournament, having previously represented China's Guangdong and Tianjin clubs, as well as Türkiye's VakıfBank during her career. Many fans traveled to Hangzhou specifically to watch her play. Zhu, who is in good form following systematic planning, expressed her desire to inspire fans with her performance.
"We have great coaches and players. Together we learn a lot from each other. No matter what club you play with, you always want to achieve the best result, and bring out the best performance. This helps me to improve, and inspires the spectators who came here to cheer for us. At my new club, the coaches and physios know how to systematically plan things for me, so I can adjust myself in training and competitions. I don't play all the games and train all the time. Basically they know how to use me scientifically."
