He commended the city's effective staff training, emphasizing that a well-trained workforce is crucial for successful governance. Thompson was particularly impressed by Beijing's rapid response capabilities. 

He also highlighted the friendly nature of both Beijing and New York citizens, emphasizing the potential for stronger friendships and increased cooperation between the two cities.
