Panathinaikos' Kendrick Nunn in action during their home victory over Olimpia Milano in Athens, Greece, December 17, 2024. /CFP
In Athens, Kendrick Nunn made history during reigning EuroLeague champions Panathinaikos' dominant 103-74 home win over Olimpia Milano. The 29-year-old American guard set records in the first quarter, hitting seven three-pointers and scoring 21 points on his way to a career-high 39.
Nunn led the Greek powerhouse to the EuroLeague title in his first season this past May, and he started this game with a hot hand, sinking his first triple for a 7-0 lead. He then extended the hosts' advantage to 12 points with a second three from the same spot. There was no stopping Nunn, who couldn't miss in the opening period, knocking down two more triples from the left side. The former NBA guard made seven three-pointers in the first quarter alone, tying Toney Douglas for the all-time scoring record for any 10-minute period with 21 points. Panathinaikos raced to a 38-15 lead, marking the highest-scoring quarter in the club's history.
Milano never recovered, and Nunn finished with a career-high and EuroLeague season-high 39 points.
