This tailing dam in Huangshi, Hubei Province contains a vast deposit of tailings – minerals, aggregates and other residual materials – that reflect a striking palette of colors in the sun when viewed from above. For years, the local authorities in the area have been using modern technology to reduce the discharge of wastewater and exhaust gases to improve the local environment.
