Tinatin Shishinashvili, senior counsellor at the Embassy of Georgia in China, said that the friendly relationship between Georgia and China is inseparable from tea. Speaking on CGTN's special program "UniTea: Macao Tea Melody," she mentioned that tea is called "chai" in Georgian and has deep origins in China. In the 19th century, Chinese tea expert Liu Junzhou traveled from Guangzhou to Georgia and cultivated the black tea that Georgians love to drink, earning him the title of "King of Georgian Tea." On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to China, Tinatin also extended her warm wishes for the special program.
