Teenage striker Marc Guiu netted his first senior hat-trick of his career as Chelsea, currently second in the English Premier League, cruised to a 5-1 victory over Ireland's Shamrock Rovers, securing their sixth consecutive win in the UEFA Conference League and advancing to the last 16 with a perfect record. The 18-year-old Spaniard now tops the competition's scoring charts with six goals.
Guiu opened the scoring with a header in the 22nd minute, but Shamrock's Markus Poom quickly equalized with a deflected shot. In the 34th minute, Guiu took advantage of a defensive error to restore Chelsea's lead at Stamford Bridge, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall added a third goal. Guiu completed his hat-trick in the first-half stoppage time with another header. Marc Cucurella added a fifth goal around the hour mark, as Chelsea finished the group stage with 26 goals scored, further cementing their status as title contenders.
