The WTA has announced the results of several end-of-season awards, with China's World No. 5 Zheng Qinwen being honored as the Fan Favorite in Singles, based on votes received from fans worldwide.

Zheng kicked off the season with a strong performance, reaching her maiden Grand Slam final at the Australian Open. Her runner-up finish at Melbourne Park propelled her into the Top 10 rankings, making her only the second Chinese player to achieve this milestone, following the legendary Li Na. She then claimed her first title of the year at the Palermo Ladies Open, winning the event for the second consecutive time. Zheng made history by becoming the first Chinese tennis player to win a singles gold medal at the Olympics, triumphing in Paris. The 22-year-old continued her successful year by capturing her second title of 2024 at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, rounding off the Asian swing in style. She also made her debut at the WTA Finals, where she finished runner-up.
