Lacquer harvesting, a traditional craft in itself, is the first step in the process of creating lacquerware. After identifying suitable lacquer trees, the artisan carefully collects the resin by cutting into the bark. This resin is then meticulously refined and filtered to produce raw lacquer, the basis for exquisite lacquerware.
