Ma Ying-jeou, former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang Party, visited the research base for the "Man-made Sun" or nuclear fusion in the Southwestern Institute of Physics based in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province. This came a few days after Ma visited the Harbin Electric Corporation in Harbin in northeast China, which is the country's earliest R&D and manufacturing base of power generation equipment. Ma and his foundation hope that both sides could cooperate more in this field.
