Markam County in China's Xizang Autonomous Region is home to ancient salt fields, a stunning tapestry that stretches along the Lancang River. With a history of more than 1,000 years, locals use traditional methods to extract brine from wells and pools, allowing the sun and wind to crystallize it into salt.

Recognized in 2008 as a national intangible cultural heritage, this ancient craft continues to preserve Markam's cultural legacy. In recent years, its unique beauty has drawn increasing numbers of visitors.
