In 2000, a lacquer bed from the Warring States Period was unearthed from beneath Chengdu's Commercial Street. Buried in dismantled pieces within a coffin for more than 2,000 years, it took 17 years of meticulous restoration by cultural relics experts before it saw the light of day again.
