The United States passed an $895 billion bill in its National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025. The Act, signed by President Joe Biden on Monday, said China is posing an "urgent challenge." In response, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang said on Thursday that the U.S. has played up the alleged "China military threat" as an excuse to increase its military spending and maintain its hegemony.
