The Shanghai Sharks beat the Fujian Sturgeons 114-92 in east China's Shanghai Municipality on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to nine games.

Though Shanghai have been in form since the second stage of the 2024-25 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) began and Fujian are sitting at the bottom of the league with no more than one win, the visitors caused some trouble for the hosts. Zou Yang and Rashawn Thomas put Fujian on a one-point lead, 24-23, after the first quarter.

Neither side attacked with efficiency as the game went on, but Shanghai managed to outscore the opponents 19-14 in the second quarter and gain a 42-38 lead before the halftime break. Fujian failed to deliver even a single assist in the first two quarters.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Li Tianrong joined hands to give Shanghai a dominant third quarter during which they outscored Fujian 40-25. Lofton Jr, made all three of his field goal (FG) attempts to contribute six points in addition to five assists, one steal and two blocks. Li got 10 points in this quarter alone. Shanghai built a 19-point lead at 82-63 after this quarter.

Joseph Young tried to carry Fujian's offense on his shoulders in the fourth quarter, but Lofton Jr. continued to dominate the floor by scoring 10 points within four minutes, throwing the game into garbage time early. He had a double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds in addition to six assists, two steals and two blocks after shooting 11-for-17 from the field.
