Team Michael Chang beat Team Li Na 11-6 to win the MGM Macau Tennis Masters in south China's Macao Special Administrative Region on Wednesday.

Chang's team entered the second-day competitions with a 4-3 lead. Of the four events scheduled for the day, the first added one point to the winning side while the results of the other three counted three points each.

Chang claimed victory in the captain challenge match that began first, increasing their side's lead to 5-3. He then sent Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic to the women's singles battle against Wang Xinyu of China. Muchova took the first set 6-3 and then saved three set points to come back 7-5 for a second win that extended their advantage to 8-3.

The third match of the men's singles was between two world top-right players, No. 6 Casper Ruud of Norway on Li's side and No. 8 Andrey Rublev of Russia on Chang's side. Rublev outlasted Ruud 6-4, 7-5 to pocket the third straight win for Team Michael Chang.

In the final event on the day, Li had her compatriot Shang Juncheng play Japanese veteran Kei Nishikori. Nineteen-year-old Shang beat Nishikori 6-3, 6-4 as the general score was 11-6 for Team Michael Chang's victory.
