China strengthens its position as a global economic power, says report

China's national strength has risen significantly in the past year, ranking among the top tier in the world, further consolidating its position as a global economic powerhouse, according to the "Global Public Opinion Index 2024" report.

The report, released by the Philosophy and Social Science Laboratory of Big Data and National Communication Strategy under China's Ministry of Education, says the public generally believes that China has huge potential for future development and is attracting global attention.

The index is based on public surveys in 36 major countries and regions around the world, covering multiple fields such as politics, economy, science and technology, and military.

The report shows that China ranks among the top in terms of political influence, economic strength, sci-tech strength, etc., demonstrating a comprehensive improvement in China's overall national power. Meanwhile, China also tops the development potential index, showing a strong growth momentum.

In terms of national image, China's image as a major power is widely recognized. Most respondents believe that China has developed into a responsible economic power, and its modern image has gradually taken root in people's hearts. At the same time, China has presented a more positive and active image and is regarded as a dynamic and innovative country.

The laboratory has carried out six rounds of surveys since 2014 and launched the Global Public Opinion Index in 2020.
