China's economy has rebounded in 2024 and is on an upward trajectory, with its GDP for the year expected to pass the 130 trillion yuan mark, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in his 2025 New Year address on Tuesday.

"We have proactively responded to the impacts of the changing environment at home and abroad. We have adopted a full range of policies to make solid gains in pursuing high-quality development," Xi said in his address, highlighting the country's efforts in grain output, new urbanization and rural revitalization, as well as green and low-carbon development.
