China Media Group (CMG) hosted on Tuesday a year-ending event in Beijing to introduce its sporting highlights for the new year.

CMG will broadcast 56 competitions in 2025, and will see an update in five shows on its sports channel, CCTV-5. The event was attended by CMG President Shen Haixiong.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach was among the sporting organization chiefs who sent wishes via video. Bach expressed gratitude for CMG's partnership with the IOC, and its successful coverage of the Olympics.

CMG will cover six major competitions in 2025, including the upcoming Asian Winter Games and the World Games, in addition to 50 others such as the World Championships of multiple sports, as well as league events across the year. On its 30th anniversary, CCTV-5 will have three current shows updated, and expand to digital platforms with two new shows.
