As the first light of 2025 breaks over Beijing, locals and tourists gathered at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, braving the cold to witness the iconic flag-raising ceremony – a moment that symbolizes hope, unity and a fresh start.
Many of the spectators lined up outside the square at midnight to get a good spot, despite freezing temperatures of about minus 8 degrees Celsius.
