At the young monkey's urging, the Buddha continues his story. After showing off his powers and being rebuked by his master, Sun Wukong returns to the Flower Fruit Mountain (Mount Huaguo). He then defeats the Demon King of Confusion and reclaims the Water Curtain Cave. Determined to protect his home, he organizes his forces, trains the monkeys in martial arts, and moves weapons from the treasury of the Ao Lai Kingdom to arm his tribe. The 72 caves of Mount Huaguo thereafter revere the Water Curtain Cave.
