Zhao Dan and Lin Qinwei gave China its first world-level title in the skeleton mixed team event at the IBSF World Cup in Winterberg, Germany, on Friday.

The discipline is set to be included in the Olympic program for the first time at next year's 2026 Winter Games in Milano-Cortina.

Zhao Dan finished in 1 minute and 1.46 seconds to move China into first place. Lin then closed out his race by giving China a combined winning time of 2 minutes and 0.87 seconds. This was the first World Cup victory for China in the team competition in skeleton events.

Austrian pair Janine Flock and Samuel Maier were 0.10 seconds behind. Another Chinese duo, Li Yuxi and Yin Zheng, took third place.
