Chinese rising star Shang Juncheng became the third player to reach the semifinals at the ATP Hong Kong Open, after beating Hungary's Fabian Marozsan in three sets on Friday.

Having shocked Russian top seed Andrey Rublev in his last match, the 25-year-old Marozsan dominated the first set against Shang 6-1.

Shang's run to the last four in Hong Kong last January provided a launchpad for him to become the first Chinese teenager to break into the Top 100 in May.

Now ranked 50th, Shang continued to show his speed as he sliced a sharp winner en route to a break, before taking the second set 6-3. Shang led again in the third set and closed it out 6-4 when Maroszan's forehand sailed out of bounds.

Next up for the 19-year-old Shang will be Japanese wildcard Kei Nishikori, who beat Great Britain's Cameron Norrie.
