Editor's Note: The Middle East remains a focal point of international attention with far-reaching implications on the world. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's He Yanke sat down with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his two-day visit to China from December 27 to 28, 2024, to discuss diplomatic solutions to the situation in the Middle East and cooperation under the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership. Araghchi said Iran is committed to maximizing its collaboration with China, the comprehensive cooperation plan signed in 2021 providing a "strong foundation" for enhancing relations. He also condemns Western double standards that "erode international rights, weaken the role and relevance of international organizations, and diminish respect for human rights."
