At 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County, Xigaze City, in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, causing significant casualties.
At a press conference held this afternoon, Xigaze City authorities reported that, as of 3 p.m., the earthquake had resulted in at least 95 fatalities and 130 injuries, according to preliminary assessments.
