Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, called for victory in the tough, protracted and comprehensive battle against corruption in an address at the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, which opened on Monday in Beijing. Describing corruption as the Party's greatest threat, Xi underscored the complexity of the ongoing battle. He outlined a series of key priorities, including making political oversight more targeted, extending anti-corruption efforts to the grassroots and tackling misconduct that directly affects people's lives.
