The time-honored Chinese pastry brand Daoxiang Village launched a series of limited-edition products featuring Year of the Snake motifs in Beijing on January 7, which were well received by consumers. The products included pastries called the Snake Treasure Fortune Cake, Red Carp Fortune Cake, New Year Lantern Fortune Cake, and the Colorful Flower Fortune Cake. Among them, the Snake Treasure Fortune Cake filled with lemon-flavored cheese was created in collaboration with the well-known artist Han Meilin. The design was based on Han's "Rock Painting Snake" artwork, which features vibrant golden snakes coiled around white cakes, which proved a hit with consumers.
