Satellite images captured from space on January 8 showed multiple fires raging uncontrollably around Los Angeles, destroying hundreds of properties and forcing thousands to flee.
The fires that started on January 7 have killed at least five people, with more than 100,000 people being ordered to evacuate.
As of January 8, more than 400,000 homes and businesses in California have been left without electricity as a result of the blazes.
